About Katie…

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. After graduating from the University of San Diego with a degree in Sociology, I spent 2 years with the Peace Corps in Paraguay, South America.

I decided to pursue a career in nursing while in Paraguay and completed a Bachelors of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University.  I then attended Emory University for a Masters in Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. I have worked in Women’s Health for 14 years as a nurse, nurse midwife, family nurse practitioner and now a clinical instructor.

My true passion has always been for women, women’s health and especially natural family planning. This is what led me to complete the teacher training in the Marquette Method of NFP and start ImagineNFP.  I chose the name ImagineNFP because just imagine the possibilities and freedom that comes with natural fertility awareness.

I currently live in Atlanta with my husband, three small children, and one lovable dogs. We have practiced the Marquette Method ourselves for several years. When I actually have free time, I enjoy running 5Ks and hiking.

Who Can Become a Marquette Model Teacher?

MMTs are healthcare providers and/or clinicians with a minimum of a baccalaureate degree.

This means that all MMTs have Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an advanced degree (APRN, MD, or PA.) MMT healthcare providers usually work in women’s reproductive health.

Upon completion of their training, MMTs receive a post graduate certificate of completion which emphasizes case management and medical applications.
